If so I would not recommend storage of the container on it's side. Even if it does not leak immediately the weight would likely cause the container to flex (over time) which could cause the gasket to fail.

The problem with plastic pumps and gasoline is that the tolerances in the pump change in the presense of gasoline and the pumps stop pumping.
