ANSWER: Layflat simply means that the bag doesn't have gussets and can be far more efficiently stored than gusseted bags. If you look a typical garbage bag you will see triangular seams down at the bottom of the bag. Layflat bags do not have these and have a seam the runs straight across the bottom. A Sandwich bag is likely a good example of a layflat bag. Their are advantages to both styles. The primary advantage to layflat bags is that they store more efficiently and are less expensive to produce.
