Standard Round Glass Jars or Straight Sided Glass Jars?

The picture to the right shows our 16 ounce standard round glass jar on the left next to our 16 ounce straight sided glass jar on the right. Both of these jars will hold 16 ounces and so it comes down to a style choice. Our straight sided jars maintain the same diameter from top to bottom. They do have a slight taper at the shoulder and are not completely vertically flush. Commonly straight sided jars are used for candles, bath salts, sugar scrubs, crèmes, lotions and food. Our standard round jars are often referred to as utility jars. These jars are very popular with their rounded shoulders and wide mouth making them easy to fill and easy to gain access to your product. Some people refer to the smaller jars as baby food jars. The larger standard rounds are used for sauce, pickles, salsa and many more food products. Our local delicatessen uses the 8 ounce jar to package his homemade horseradish.
