Benefits of a Phenolic Lined Steel Drum with a PE Liner

When might you need the benefits of using a lined steel drum with a polyethylene liner?   The simple answer to that question is when you need a steel drum but your product is sensitive to iron.  This drum would be suitable for that type of situation.  Our MSD5-24-01 drum actually offers double protection as the interior of the drum has an .8 Mil red phenolic lining and also a 15 Mil smooth wall polyethylene insert and cover disc.  This drum is not a composite drum.  If you are looking for a composite drum, please see our SPP55DPBKW1823.  The exterior of the drum is black with a white cover that is held to the drum body with a bolt ring.  The UN rating on this drum is UN1A2/Y1.5/100 making it suitable for hazardous liquids in the Packing Group II and III categories.  It would also be suitable for non-hazardous liquids.  The drum description and closing instructions are as follows:

1.1MM STEEL BODY & BOTTOM
1.3MM STEEL COVER WITH TWO 2″ NYLON FLANGES & PLUGS
15 MIL SMOOTH WALL INSERT AND COVER DISC
(CDF PRODUCT#5515/34.00-G4-N)
